C'est La Vie

She’s bed bound, gazing into his eyes
His hands slowly creep up her thighs

Things got steamy when he pulls the cover over his head
This moment so romantic, rose pedals all over the bed

Top drawer, pull out the rubber
Because she’s too young to be some baby’s mother

There are other dangerous things to put into consideration
Like having an STD affiliation

She fell in love instantly or maybe it was lust
But little does she know, he already left her in the dust

Seven missed calls and a thousand texts later
She finally figured out that he doesn’t want to date her

Sad, angry, miserable, hurt, oh, the pain
Tears flowing just like the rain

Suicidal thoughts are racing
Back and forth, she is pacing

Five months later and she hasn’t used a tampon
Off to the doctor to see what damage has been done

After the appointment, she calls up that fool
To make sure he knows she’ll be expecting soon

He doesn’t believe her and she doesn’t want this
This is supposed to be a moment full of bliss

Twenty dollars in her pocket and thirty more in her bank account
She wants to get a rid of it before her parents find out

She knows a guy that knows a guy that knows a girl
That can perform a surgery to fix her screwed up world

She calls and the phone rings, rings, rings, and rings
On the other side there is a hello and she sits and thinks

“I need a you-know-what fast” she says
“Well how much you got and in how many days?”

“As soon as possible and a Ulysses S. Grant”
“Tomorrow is fine and you can bet that”

Raggedy, run down building with bars on the windows
With teens out front blowing trees by the O

She goes up to apartment 4J and knocks a little bit
Before you know it, she’s inside being told to sit

The lady said “put your legs up on these rests,
I can’t promise it won’t hurt but I’ll try my best”

Now this part is too sick and too graphic
So, the next time we meet Syd, she’s sitting in traffic

Now Sydney is home dialing seven digits
A deep voice answers and Syd says, “I did it”

They converse for some time, apologies are swapped
It’s the jerk on the phone. He spoke, then suddenly stopped

His voice shaky and low, almost a whisper
He said, “I was in the shower and I noticed a blister”

Sydney spoke up, “And what does this have to do with me?!”
Jerk cried, “I got it tested, Its herpes, I’m sorry”

Sad, angry, miserable, hurt, oh, the pain
Tears flowing just like the rain

Suicidal thoughts are racing
Back and forth, she is pacing

Tylenol, Advil, Midol, and prescription
Her mind and soul are leaving her body, eviction

She washes them down with vodka and rubbing alcohol
She feels dizzy and she passes out in the middle of her hall.
